First Day of School!

It's official Colin is in 3rd grade! Where did all this time go? I miss my little peanut! He is looking forward to a good year, I can only hope it is turns into a great one! He has several friends in his class and he has a great teacher! He has turned into a reading machine too! I can't wait to see how much he grows and hopefully starts to love learning again!

We are soon starting Fall Baseball and we just found out he will be moving up an age group...he will now be playing "kid pitch". This Mama is a little worried but I know he will be great! The down side to being moved up is, he will be a Yankee...if you don't know, the Yankee's are his "enemy". Sorry Yankee fans, we are a Boston family to the core! I was once asked by a friend if Colin had to play for the Yankee's against Boston who would I root for? My answer is simple, I will cheer till I have no voice for my kid BUT, Red Sox better win, Colin would get paid either way! Colin is still trying to digest the team name but can"t wait to take the field with several of the boys he has become good friends with! Stay tuned for more about fall-ball!

Summer's almost over, BOOOOOO!

The end of Summer is here...BOO! Colin will be starting school next week and Seann is already back to work. I think overall the family has had a great summer. We missed out on some of our normal summer fun things but got to spend more time together close to home!

Caitlyn is growing like a little weed! She just had her 6 month check up and she is starting to chunk up a bit. She weighed in at 14.14...she is still nursing like it is her job(cause it is!) and has had a lot of tastes of fruits and veggies. She's not that into the other foods yet. Which makes me feel like I am finally doing my job on the nursing front! :-) Yay Me! She is sitting really well on her own and gave Seann a bit of a scare when she flipped herself on all fours and started to rock back and forth! No worries though we've still got time, it only lasted a moment!

Meghan is so excited to start Cougar Cubs, it's pre-K at Daddy's school, except she doesn't start till October! She gets to pack a lunch and eat with her friends at school this year too! Meghan was given a choice of her "sport" for this fall...she wants to take a painting class. Bad news is classes are in the mornings while she is at school. So now she is trying to decide between a dance class, soccer and somehow t-ball got thrown into the mix in the last few days! I'll keep you posted on what she chooses!

Colin will be starting 3rd grade, how did that happen? He is very pleased to get the teacher he wanted, Mrs. Courtois. Here's hoping he starts enjoying school again! His sport choice again is fall baseball! Love some baseball in this family!
He spent most of the summer reading, he finished about 8 books so far and he's been building LEGO's non-stop. He has a new love for Star Wars! Anything and Everything Star Wars! His Dad is pretty proud of himself!

Speaking of Dad, Seann has been working super hard at getting some continuing education classes finished up. He attended 3 courses through the county and did an "at home" course on Rome! All while working at the shoe store, scheduling all track and cross country meets for the county for the next year, coaching at running camp and being a great Daddy and Hubby! We miss him now that he's back into QO world!

Now the big news for me!!!! I played softball last spring and the beginning of the summer and I am doing it again this fall! I joined the gym and have been going regularly! AND I applied to MC, to take classes to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am so excited! It is going to take a long time but I am going to become a grown up!

There will be a lot to post soon! So I am going to really try to keep this updated! Hugs to all the family and friends we don't get to see, we miss you bunches!

Spring has Sprung!

Happy Easter! It was a wonderful Easter for us this year! Full of worship, baskets, egg hunts, and time with friends! Not to mention the food! We had spring break over Holy Week and took full advantage of the weather we were blessed with! The kids dyed Easter Egg's with their friends, washed the dog/cars, played in the sprinkler, played some baseball, played at local parks, had picnics, rode scooters and Colin even learned to ride a bike(the 2 wheel version)!

Meghan chose a trip to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs. We walked around the National Mall and even took time out to ride the carousel. The smiles were amazing! We took a short detour to a small garden off the Mall (not sure of the name) to take a few pictures, rest and let Caitlyn eat! To finish off the day we drove through Georgetown and had dinner at our favorite little restaurant there, Mr. Smith's.(Open air courtyard with great food!) Colin and Seann were disappointed to find out that the Tera Cotta Warriors exhibit was by ticket only and it was sold out even after being extended for 2 more weeks!

We had a great day at the National Zoo with our Friends too! Good Friday was spent with a million other families at the Zoo. The Cassidy's met us at the entrance and we worked our way through the Zoo. The kids were excited to see the Panda's, Elephants, Gorilla's (baby one too!), Lions, Tigers, Crocodiles, Prairie Dogs, and Zebra's. Lots of walking and VERY little whining! We followed up the Zoo with some time at Meghan's "favorite dinner place", the old 4 P's! There is nothing Chicken n' Fries, Spinach dip and a soda can't fix! Not to mention the LARGE box at our front door when we got home! Easter Goodies from Gram and Papa! The kids used Skype and opened their baskets WITH Gram and Papa! They were so excited!

"This Easter ROCK'S" according to Colin! Their baskets were loaded with candy and goodies! Colin loves Star Wars these days, so his basket had another Lego Star Wars set and some school supplies that were Star Wars themed! Meghan was VERY excited when the Princess and the Frog came out on DVD, so the Movie and the Tiana Barbie doll were in her basket!

We finished up the week with a sleep over with the Cassidy's. Colin and Meghan have been begging to do this for a while but have never made it close to all night! So Seann and I stayed too! The kids learned about a favorite of all the adults that were present...they discovered the fun of a merry-go-round! You know the metal ones we played on when we were kids! Run, try to jump on with-out killing yourself and spin till you get sick or at least can't walk straight! Good times! The grown-ups had just as much fun watching!

We are enjoying the last day of break for the kids hanging around the house while Seann unfortunately has to be in school to gets grades finished and turned in! But there is Baseball practice tonight so there is still fun to look forward to!

Thursday Already!

So the week has flown by!

St. Patrick's Day came and went! Leprechauns changed milk green according to Meghan's teacher, we had to make sure the doors where locked at home so they couldn't get to our fridge! Colin luckily didn't have to battle any Leprechauns at his school this year! We spent the evening at the Rio listening to some live Irish music, getting faces painted and balloons twisted into fun shapes. Meghan chose a shamrock flower and Colin got a sword, go figure. All in all a fun family outing!

The weather has been amazing so we spent this evening at Blue Hills Park. The kids loved running from toy to toy, Caitlyn nestled in to the carrier for a lovely nap! We are now all worn out and ready for bed!(except for the sleeping angel who is now starved!)Daddy is still at Q.O. for winter awards night, we stopped in to say "HI" and he will give smooches to sleepy heads in a little while. Mommy may end up with one of those sleepy smooches too!

More after baseball tomorrow evening!

XOXO

Monday Morning!

Good morning, I think! It wasn't a terrible night last night but, Meghan is not doing so well with the whole time change yet, she was up till about 1am. Colin and Caitlyn where sleeping champions! So Mommy is moving a little slow this morning...I'm easing into coffee with some tea first. We have a very exciting day ahead of us!

The Bryson kids will be here for the day to play! Meghan will be very happy to have her friend to play house with! She also has an exciting afternoon at school. They are having their teddy bear pic-nic. So she gets to have a "jamma day" at school and take a bear (aka lele, whose is really a lamb!). They will read special bear stories, play bear games and even have a bear snack! Exciting stuff, really!

Colin is excited today too! Yesterday he got to have a shopping spree at Dick's Sporting Goods! All to get ready BASEBALL! There is a clinic on Friday afternoon that can't get here soon enough! He will be back with Coach Randy this spring and the team will be the Phillies, he's already asking for some Phillies gear. Being that this family is a RED SOX family (or Cleveland) he may not get much gear! I can't wait for the season to start, I love watching the little man play!

Caitlyn is doing amazing! She eats like a little piggie, we are just over 8lbs. now! She sleeps VERY well too, night time is not a big deal but, now that I say that she will have another growth spurt and want to eat every hour! She is spoiled rotten and keeps receiving the greatest gifts, lucky girl! So many cute outfits, I don't know how she is going to wear them all, we will try though!

As a whole, we have transitioned into 5 fairly well and are looking forward to St. Patrick's Day this week!

XOXO
